EVENTS
During my period at the Forest Stewardship Council, I planned conferences and worked on various exhibitions, conceptualising the themes to ensure FSC brand consistency, and sourcing and working with designers and printers to bring the themes to life in the exhibition panels and materials. I also worked on a campaign with other credible eco-label partners called Labelwise, where we developed a Youtube advertisement, a website and posters in order to promote our labels and create awareness of our brands.
GREEN BUILDING CONFERENCE
This exhibition took place in Cape Town, and I conceptualised the theme of the exhibition, which mainly concentrated on the benefits of using FCS-certified wood for construction and architectural elements.
SUSTAINABLE BRANDS
This was a four-day conference held in Cape Town to promote the the business benefits of sustainability for brands. Brand and thought leaders attend in order to showcase their innovative efforts towards sustainability. FSC Africa attended to promote and create awareness of FSC amongst the most environmentally conscious brands in South Africa.
WOODEX
Woodex showcases the various industries utilising wood in South Africa and Africa. The theme here was to showcase a living room, and to demonstrate how many products a consumer could find in their own home, and also to indicate that there are usually great FSC-certified products to use in place of others that are not as sustainable. Products included a wooden floor, charcoal to use in a fireplace, books found on bookcases, and even compost used in pot plants. All products were donated by FSC-certified companies. The objective was to create awareness of FSC-certified products.
LABELWISE CAMPAIGN
Labelwise is a joint collaboration between four of the world's most credible eco-labels, to create awareness of and promote the brands in South Africa. The objective of the Labelwise collaboration is to educate consumers on best practice when shopping and to choose the labels that promote environmental responsibility.
